White Widow Growing Guide – Harvesting and Drying

Once your marijuana plants have fully matured and produced large buds that are full of crystals they will be ready to harvest. You will want to harvest around the time when 75% of the white hairs on the plant turn to a reddish or brown color. If the resin is clear then it’s not ready to be harvested. By harvesting early you can possibly cause your results to be not as potent as they could be if harvested at the right time. Once the hairs are brown they will be at the maximum potency possible. After the climax is hit the potency will weaken if you don’t harvest the plants.

Harvesting
If you’re harvesting white widow plants that were grown outside you will have to bring some duffel bags or garbage bags. If you want to harvest the whole plant while outside you will cut each branch off and place them inside paper bags. You can also choose to take the whole plant and then harvest it when at home. Be careful when transporting your white widow plants as well because if they shake the resin can get away from the plants.

Drying
Once you have the white widow plants in your home you will have to place them inside Rubbermaid containers. Put them away and only stir up the contents two times every single day. You should be watching for any possible mold. If mold ends up appearing in the container you will have to get the white widow plants out of the container. Microwave the white widow plant to destroy the mold that has already contaminated it.

When drying the white widow plants is sure there is no light around. If the plants get exposed to light it will kill the THC and make the potency a lot lower than it normally would be. It will take a few weeks before the buds and leaves can be removed. Once they are you can place them inside pieces of newspaper and place them somewhere warm and dry.

In about a week the stem will be easy to snap and the marijuana should all be dry. Remember this strategy is mainly focused to people who grow their white widow plants outside and indoor growing has different measures that are taken for harvesting and drying.
